On our upper floor we have "bunkobon", paperback editions of both popular and classic novels, as well as children's literature. Downstairs are a wide range of DVDs, manga, hardcover novels and non-fiction. The library is packed with the best of Japanese literature and film. Whenever you hunt here, you will find a treasure.
We welcome anyone who wishes to check out our Japanese books and DVDs, but first please contact us (see the Contact Us page) to become a member and get some basic information. Our library is very popular, and we often get visitors from greater Minnesota and out of state. We exist because of the generous contributions of Japanese people throughout the U.S.

ABOUT THE LIBRARY
THE JAPANESE LIBRARY
The Japanese Library in Bloomington is a private library belonging to Yoko Breckenridge. It is totally devoted to Japanese books and DVDs. Unlike university and college collections, which are for research, our collection is meant to be enjoyed by regular people. Here you can find novels, how-to books, magazines, DVDs, etc. All of our books are in Japanese.
